Aldi - Hillingdon Road, Uxbridge
A NEW ALDI STORE FOR UXBRIDGE
Welcome to our dedicated consultation page to share our plans to open a new Aldi on Hillingdon Road.
Background
Aldi has bought the site on Hillingdon Road in Uxbridge and we are developing plans for a new foodstore to serve local shoppers. The land has been vacant for over three years and the appearance of the site has deteriorated over time.

Our proposals
Our plans will bring the vacant site back into use, replacing the existing, unoccupied buildings with a bespoke Aldi foodstore, with sustainable features, a customer car park and attractive landscaping, providing greater choice and value for food shopping.

Greater shopping choice
The new store will bring Aldi’s affordable offer to Uxbridge, increasing food shopping choice locally. The new store will:
- Provide an accessible store in the heart of the community, close to where people live and work.
- Offer Aldi’s high-quality, affordable range helping to make shoppers money go further.
- Regenerate and improve the visual appearance of the site, which has which has deteriorated over time to bring it back into use for the community.
Economy and jobs
Our new store will bring millions of pounds of investment into the Uxbridge area, with new jobs, training and career opportunities.
This store alone will provide:
- Up to 50 new in-store jobs, working in partnership with Job Centre Plus to identify candidates from the local area.
- High wages for workers – our London Store Assistants receive a minimum hourly rate higher than the Government’s National Living Wage.
- Excellent pay and career opportunities for our employees.
Sustainability
Our new store proposals use the latest technology and sustainability measures to create a well-designed, energy-efficient and environmentally-friendly foodstore. A summary of the sustainability measures we aim to implement is below:
- 68 car parking spaces, including electric vehicle charging points and cycle spaces to encourage shoppers to use sustainable forms of transport.
- Reduction of operational energy consumption and investment in renewable technology, including air source heat pumps, solar roof panels, LED lighting and measures to reduce water consumption.
- An increase in landscaping across the entire site, with additional trees along the Hillingdon Road frontage and new planters.
