Bermondsey Yards, Southwark

Background
Following our initial public consultation last year, Aviva Investors and Sellar are pleased to update you on the redevelopment of 42-44 Bermondsey Street, 40 Bermondsey Street and the Leather Warehouse at Vinegar Yards, to provide a new office campus.
As you may be aware, we undertook a comprehensive consultation and listening exercise in December 2021 and have responded to the feedback shared by local residents. In May 2022 we held a further stage of consultation on the revised plans, before submitting the plans to Southwark Council in September 2022.
January 2023 - Summary of Proposals
The planning application was first submitted in 2019 and later deferred by members of the Planning Committee. The revised plans, submitted in September 2022, have sought to address the concerns and reasons for the application being deferred. These were:
- Treatment of the warehouse;
- Materials; and
- Design of the public realm.
