What will the proposals bring to New Malden?
- 49 high-quality new homes to help meet local housing needs, including 10% affordable homes
- 592m² flexible and modern commercial floorspace to attract new businesses or retailers to the High Street, including affordable commercial space for community use
- New active frontages and improved, safer public realm along the High Street, Cambridge Road and Sussex Place
- Creation of new job opportunities, with around 37 full-time commercial roles in the completed development and 9 jobs during construction
- High-quality communal amenity spaces with landscaped podium gardens featuring play space for children
- A bespoke paving design, alongside plaques, making reference to the site’s heritage
- Emphasis on green and sustainable travel by creating new homes in the town centre, with policy compliant cycle parking and free membership to a car club.
- Supporting local infrastructure improvements through Community Infrastructure Levy and Section 106 contributions.
