Hersham Green Shopping Centre
BACKGROUND
Quadrant Repurpose and La Salle are working in partnership to invest in Hersham Green Shopping Centre, which includes the existing Waitrose store, smaller independent shops and the car park.
We have been exploring potential development options and ideas to rethink the future of the shopping centre as the heart of Hersham village.
The proposals will bring investment to the local area and make better use of the site which currently under used.

OUR PROPOSALS
The proposals seek to bring forward a mix of uses on the site to create a vibrant development in the heart of Hersham, which include modern, high-quality space for retailers, alongside new homes and landscaped public space in the centre of the new development for everyone to enjoy.
Our initial proposals include:

- 9,292 sqft of additional retail space, including space for smaller independent shops.
- 211 residential units, with adequate car parking to suit.
- Four buildings across the site ranging from two to seven storeys, arranged around a new public square and two podium gardens for residents.
- Enhanced pedestrian routes through the site from New Berry Lane to Burwood Road and Molesey Road.
- A car-free centre of the site with parking concealed from view.
- Sustainable building features, to achieve BREEAM excellent.

Phases
Update - March 2023
We are committed to working with the local community to help shape our plans and deliver a thoughtfully designed development. Our first stage of consultation was very well attended and we were pleased to have the opportunity to listen to comments from the local community.
Since then, we have been reviewing the feedback and hope to be in a position to share the revised plans at a second round of consultation later this year, where we will respond to the key issues raised and present an updated scheme.
There were some consistent themes, including matters such as parking, existing problems accessing local services such as doctors, the scale of our initial proposals and the potential impact on existing shops in Hersham Green Shopping Centre. These are all important matters and we are in the process of working through them before we come forward with updated plans.
If you haven’t already, you can sign up to our mailing list below for regular updates on the next stage of consultation and the proposals as they emerge
